Erica Bello has always had an innate connection with metalsmithing. Even from an early age she was attracted to the idea of working with her hands and creating objects that were both beautiful and functional. Now in her mid-twenties her understanding of this versatile material compels her to experiment with new materials in her jewelry. Bello first began using found objects while studying for her Bachelor’s degree in the School for American Craft's Metalsmithing program at the Rochester Institute of Technology. Her application of new items in her jewelry remained a constant thread throughout her 3 years there and was often the inspiration for her designs and concepts. Since graduating in 2011, Erica continues to explore new materials and techniques in her studio located in Rochester NY. |
